Connecticut Pistol Permit Instruction - NRA Basic Pistol Course
NRA Basic Pistol Course.
 

A Connecticut pistol permit is required to carry and purchase pistols, revolvers, rifles or shotguns in Connecticut.  In order to get a State Permit to Carry you must first obtain a local permit. A local pistol permit/temporary state permit may be obtained from the police chief in the town in which you reside or maintain a place of business. You must complete an approved firearm safety course that includes a live fire exercise in order to apply for a pistol permit. The NRA Basic Pistol class is the first step in that process, as it meets the mandated state requirements.

The NRA Basic Pistol Course is required in order to get your local carry permit. 

The Goal of the NRA Basic Pistol course is 

"to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for owning and using a pistol safely"

Items to bring to the course

Comfortable clothing.
Personal identification (Driver's License.)

Hearing and eye protection, ammunition and handguns will be provided for the course. Each course consists of the mandatory classroom instruction and actual range time.

Each person will shoot multiple firearms at the live fire part of the class.

The cost of the class per person is $125.
